Charlie Jones is a bold and innovative costume designer with a flair for weaving fashion into compelling visual narratives. A London native and Goldsmiths University graduate, Charlie began her career at the grassroots level, selling vintage clothing from a stall at the iconic Portobello Market. This early experience led to a career traveling the globe, sourcing rare vintage pieces for some of the world’s top brands and A-list celebrities. Her eye for detail and unique aesthetic inevitably drew her into the world of film and television.
With over a decade of experience in music videos and commercials, Charlie transitioned to long-form narratives in 2014, designing costumes for Season 4 of the hit E! series The Royals. From there, her portfolio expanded to include critically acclaimed shows such as Responsible Child (BBC), The Flatshare (Paramount+), and This Way Up (Channel 4). Most notably, Charlie earned praise for her stylish, character-driven designs in the psychological thriller The Girl Before for HBO Max, starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw and David Oyelowo.
In recent years, Charlie has continued to push creative boundaries, working on feature films like My Fault:London. Her latest project, Picture This, starring Simone Ashley and Hero Fiennes Tiffin, is set to premiere on Amazon Prime later this year.
Charlie’s work reflects not only her keen fashion sensibility but also her commitment to sustainability. Her costumes for This Way Up and The Flatshare were almost entirely sourced through ethical means, embodying her philosophy of creating beautiful, impactful designs with a conscience. Based in London and working worldwide, Charlie’s distinctive approach and dedication to authenticity make her an invaluable asset to any production looking to craft memorable visual stories through costume.
